The activist is currently in New York, crossing the Atlantic with a sailboat and passing her own message against greenhouse gas emissions generated by airplanes.

The reason for her visit is her presence at the United Nations Conference on Climate Change. This conference comes as a follow-up to the 2015 Conference in Paris and is expected to provide more "green" solutions to tackle the problem of climate change.

As part of its activities, Greta Thunberg invited young people from all over the world to participate in the "Fridays For Future" movement. So on Friday 20 September, students in more than 150 countries did not go to school to shout loudly in the streets of their cities, "since you do not care about our future, we will do it".

Our country also participated in the events with students starting their march from Syntagma Square, continuing to Ermou and Monastiraki as they ended up in front of the Parliament.

In a statement, they said: "We are taking part in global mobilization to stop environmental catastrophe and demand immediate solutions to save the planet from climate change. We are in solidarity with the millions of citizens, first and foremost the young people and the students, who will demonstrate and strike on the same day in dozens of countries and hundreds of cities around the world. The international movement is coordinating and escalating its actions, in view of the UN climate summit at 23 / 9, and declares resolutely: change the system, not the climate. "

The second scheduled climate change march will take place next Friday on 27 September. Greece will once again participate, where a general strike is planned at Syntagma Square and other parts of the country, at 12: 00 at noon.
